Thane, May 9 (Language) A case has been registered against two brothers for cheating a transporter of Rs 22.50 lakh in Thane city, Maharashtra. An officer gave this information.
Both defendants worked as operations managers and cargo managers at the carrier’s company.
An official at the Naupada police station said on Wednesday that the accused had created false payment details of the company’s truck and trailer drivers since March and allegedly accepted payments in the name of vehicle cleaners who did not did not work for the carrier.
-Information about this was revealed during the inspection and audit of the company’s accounts.
Police said the two accused then fled their residence in Thane. They also took with them mobile phones intended for official use and a laptop. Both of them cheated the transporter of Rs 22.50 lakh.
Following a complaint filed by the owner of the transport company, the police on Tuesday detained the two accused under sections 408 (criminal breach of trust), 379 (theft) and 34 (acts committed by several persons in furtherance of a common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
