How RCB, SRH and CSK can reach the IPL 2024 playoffs – All scenarios explained
Descriptive text here

The race for the IPL 2024 playoffs is well and truly on, with Sunrisers , Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Super Kings being the main contenders. Capitals and Super Giants also have an outside chance, but their Net Run Rate (NRR) will make it slightly difficult for both teams. Knight Riders are the only team guaranteed a place in the Top 2, with SRH also looking to challenge Royals for a place in Qualifier 1. RR lost to Kings by 5 wickets on Wednesday and This means that SRH still remains in the fight to potentially take a place in the Top 2.

Find out how SRH, CSK and RCB can book their place in the IPL 2024 playoffs –

Chennai Super Kings – 14 points from 13 matches (NRR +0.528)

Matches restants – 1 (vs RCB)

CSK has a good chance of qualifying as they have 14 points from 13 matches with a Net Run Rate (NRR) of +0.528. A win against RCB in their final league match will secure their place in the IPL playoffs. However, even if they are beaten by RCB, they can still qualify. They hope that even if they are beaten by RCB, the Faf Du Plessis-led camp will not advance on NRR. If LSG win their final match (and reach 14), CSK will still be favorites due to a much higher NRR. They are also hoping that SRH (14 from 12 matches) will lose both their matches, so that it will be easy for them.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – 14 points en 12 matches (NRR +0,406)

Matches restants – 2 (vs GT et PBKS)

Wins in the remaining two matches will secure a playoff spot for SRH. Even if they lose one of their matches, they will still qualify. If they both lose their match, it will all go back to NRR. If SRH loses their remaining two matches while LSG and RCB win their remaining matches, the Pat Cummins-led side will have to depend on NRR to make it into the top 4. If CSK beats RCB and SRH loses both their matches, they J ‘hope to maintain a better run rate than LSG and DC to win the final play-off places.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru – 12 points in 13 matches (NRR +0,387)

Remaining matches – 1 (vs CSK)

With a five-match winning streak, RCB have made a stunning comeback in the ongoing IPL 2024. They won just one of their first seven games, but the change in form has put them in the playoff race. For RCB to qualify, they need to beat Chennai Super Kings to reach 14 points. They would then hope that their NRR is above the other teams vying for the fourth playoff spot. They would also like SRH to lose their remaining two matches or LSG to lose their final match by a wide margin.
