IND-W vs BAN-W Score en direct, 5e T20I: Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the 5th T20I between Bangladesh and India Women at the Sylhet International Stadium on Thursday.

The Indian women’s cricket team would look to complete a 5-0 run when they take on a defeated Bangladesh in the fifth and final T20 international match of a weather-hit series here on Thursday.

Indian bowlers outplayed the batters, even though two out of four matches were interrupted due to bad weather. In the second match, India had to chase just 29 runs in 5.2 overs, and the batters were given fewer overs to score.

In four matches, India have only a fifty to show, by Shafali Verma (51) in the first match. Smriti Mandhana has a maximum of 47 and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has scored a best knock of 39 so far.

The performance does not reflect well on the team’s batting core, given that Bangladesh will host the Women’s T20 World Cup in October.

Mandhana and Kaur would look to seize the opportunity on Thursday and score big.

Kaur, in particular, would be looking to continue her momentum after her 39 from 26 in Monday’s final match, which was a 14-a-side affair. India won the match by 56 runs using the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Shafali has been inconsistent, although she is India’s top scorer with 84 points in this series, one more than Mandhana (83). Kaur has 75 points from the four matches.

Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana’s form declined after a half-century in the first match. She has 86 points in four matches.

Sultana will once again be the key to Bangladesh’s fortunes, although she hasn’t been part of too many runs after making 51 in the first match on April 28.

Indian bowlers have, however, done well on the slow pitches on offer here, with left-arm spinner Radha Yadav topping the order with seven wickets.

She found support from pacers Pooja Vastrakar (5 wickets) and Renuka Singh (4) and off-spinner Shreyanka Patil (4).

Veteran Deepti Sharma also took five wickets after her fine performance of 2/13 in the fourth match on Monday.

Rabeya Khan of Bangladesh is currently second in the bowling rankings with six wickets in four matches. 19-year-old pacer Marufa Akter also impressed with five wickets in four matches.

On the batting front, Bangladesh will rely on Sultana to counter the experienced Indian attack. But she will need the support of Dilara Akter and Murshida Khatun if Bangladesh are to secure a consolation victory.

Bangladesh’s last T20I win against India took place in 2023 in Mirpur, and Sultana was part of that match.
