Journalist: Man shoots journalist in UP, arrested

: The anti-extortion cell of the Thane crime branch on Monday arrested a notorious criminal from for killing a journalist of a private channel near in Uttar Pradesh. The victim was identified as Ashutosh Shrivastav, 43, and the accused as Jamiruddin Qureshi, 48. Police said the victim and the accused had a long-standing feud over the land issue. The duo then went to the court in which the victim recently won the case, said Punjabrao Ugale, additional CP (crime). Qureshi is the main conspirator and he allegedly hired two others for the murder. “On Monday around 9:30 a.m., the victim was going to a market, the accused approached him on the road and shot him five times with an imported pistol, killing him fatally,” said a police officer.
