Ranchi : A student living in the BIT area of Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, committed suicide after being injured while accusing her own friends of gang rape. This was revealed by the suicide note found in the student’s diary. On May 5, the student committed suicide in her own home. At the time of investigation, police did not find any suicide note at the spot. Later, the family members provided the student’s suicide note to the police. According to information received from the police, in the suicide note, the student blamed her friends. Police said that on March 6, friends of the student studying at Birsa Agricultural College lured her, took her to Kokar area of Ranchi and gang-raped her.
After this incident, she was no longer able to live properly. Even after the gang rape, her friends continued to insult her, which made her upset, hurt and commit suicide. In the suicide note, the student also wrote down the names and phone numbers of the two accused. The student’s mother lodged an FIR at the Ranchi police station, Sadar, in this regard.
In this case, city SP Rajkumar Mehta said that police did not find any suicide note during investigation in the room. The family members later provided two suicide notes to the police. An investigation is currently underway into the student’s cell phone. As soon as the evidence is received, further action will be taken, strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
